Abstract :
We present a novel moments-based method for optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) monitoring in polarization-multiplexed coherent optical systems. The method is experimentally demonstrated to show high accuracy in OSNR monitoring over a large range for both constant and non-constant modulus modulation formats.
