Abstract :
Using discrete Legendre orthogonal polynomial (DLOP´s), a new technique is proposed to determine the finite-time suboptimal control for a linear time-invariant discrete system with a quadratic performance index. By the proposed technique the optimal control problem is reduced to the solution of a system of linear algebraic equations. A remarkable advantage of the technique is that it is simple and can be easily implemented in a digital computer.
