Abstract :
Feeder Automation is one important part of distribution automation. Considering frequent change of network due to rapid growing of system, it is necessary to find a high efficient configuration way. Open and interoperability feature of IEC61850 makes it possible to model the feeder automation in IEC61850. This paper introduced the modeling of FA in IEC61850, including architecture, data, topology and communication. This paper summarized advantage and disadvantage of FA modeling in IEC61850, analyzed the requirement of FA, e.g. network topology, capacity of switch and so on, and gave some points on how to extend the IEC61850 for basic FA application. This paper concluded that FA modeling in IEC61850 is a good attempt for FA engineering with right extension.
