Abstract
High electrical power efficiency is desired characteristic in high performance solar cells. In this paper we present an analytical investigation SiGe solar cell including texture morphology effects, in order to study the impact of the texture morphology on the electrical performances. Based on 2D analytical investigation of SiGe single-junction (SiGe(n)/Si(p)) thin film solar cell, in the present paper new analytical models of optical and electrical parameters are developed to investigate the impact of the surface texture morphology on the enhancement of the solar cell for high performance applications. In this context, electrical characteristics of the investigated design are analyzed and compared with conventional SiGe solar cell, without surface texture morphology.
