Abstract :
This work details the directional properties of the radiation of radio base antennas in cellular systems with respect to various variables, in addition to the usually employed variable of the distance from the bottom of the radio base tower. It is shown that the electric field intensity peaks at different distances from the bottom of the radio base tower depending on these variables, leading to the conclusion that fixing a minimum distance from populated areas for the installation of radio bases is not the proper way to ensure safety.
