Abstract :
A novel variable-spiral soft glass photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with wide-band high birefringence, large nonlinearity and low dispersion is presented. The designed PCF offers birefringence up to 0.05554, nonlinearity up to 3089w-1 km-1/3079w-1 km-1 and dispersion of (-95.45,0)/(-372.6,153.2) ps/nm/km for X-/Y-polarization within a wavelength range from 1000 to 1800nm.
