Abstract :
In this article we propose a new concept for optimization of WDM soliton systems, called collision-management. We propose three techniques to implement the collision-management: through the introduction of an initial delay among pulses of different channels, optimization of channel spacing and optimization of amplifier spacing. We used numerical simulations to implement collision-management in 2 × 40 Gb/s soliton systems with erbium-doped fiber amplifiers in the C band, without using dispersion-management.
