Abstract :
In the near future, the American Railroad system will face the problem of equipping its freight trains with electronically controlled pneumatic (ECP) braking without disrupting operations. This paper discusses the effects of this change and describes ZefTron´s ECP product that is designed to minimize downtime and maintain railroad car utilization procedures during the transition period to ECP braking. Other impediments to immediate adoption are also reviewed and discussed
