Abstract :
This paper analyzes the compatibility of HD radio and DRM (digital radio mondiale) systems for digital sound broadcasting with Brazilian AM mask and channel planning characteristics. This analysis considers systems transmitting on frequencies below 30 MHz on a channel configuration defined in the Brazilian regulating rules. Both systems´ characteristics are presented, operating in a simulcast, in-band on-channel mode, therefore maintaining the analog transmission on the air.
