Abstract
In 1998 TTCI began an “Advanced Freight Car Truck-Bulk Commodity” program. ASF submitted a 3-piece truck design, with 3 advanced features. In September of 1999, this truck was tested against the Truck Performance Evaluation Requirements for Bulk Commodity Cars, dated 10/8/98. This paper discusses the truck design and test results. ASF has worked in partnership with Trinity Industries in the development of a 315 K Gross Rail Load (GRL) car, which geometrically matches current 286 K GRL designs. The subject truck has been designated as HCIT (high capacity integrated truck)
