Abstract :
University teachers are basic elements of higher education and research; they have influential role for the development of higher education. So a reasonable teacher evaluation system can promote the university teacher´s positive role in educational work. This paper analyzes the factors which influence university teachers´ evaluation on the foundation of previous teacher evaluation studies. According to the importance of these factors on evaluation, corresponding evaluation index system is established. Based on the theory of entropy and fuzzy multilevel comprehensive evaluation, an entropy-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model for the evaluation of university teachers is developed. Entropy based weight assignment is adaptive and dynamic thus can avoid the problem of subjective weight assignment. We demonstrate the proposed evaluation system with a practical example.
