Abstract
Along with the development and application of new wireless communication technologies, it is becoming a new hotspot to research and construct wireless communication systems fit for distribution power automation systems (DPAS). Mobitex is a kind of narrow-band packet-switch data communication technology, which is suitable for paroxysmal data transmission. The characteristics of Mobitex technology include: on-line access, unexampled capacity and high security etc. This paper introduces Mobitex-based wireless communication systems called WDTS-M. WDTS-M systems work at 821-825 MHz (downside) and 866-870 (upside), respectively. The data rate is 8 kbps. Therefore, the utilization rate of frequency is 0.64 bit/Hz. The structure and features of WDTS-M systems will be described in this paper. It also presents functions of the main parts in WDTS-M systems. Finally, the extensibility of WDTS-M systems will be analyzed.
