Abstract :
Average bit error rate (ABER) performance of a dual branch equal gain combining (EGC) receiver is analyzed in correlated Hoyt fading channels in the presence of phase error and co-channel interference. The interfering signals are assumed to be Nakagami-m distributed. Closed form expression for moments of the combiner output signal to interference plus noise ratio is derived. Using the obtained expression, average bit error rate (ABER) for binary phase shift keying modulation is obtained applying moment generating function and Pade approximation approach, in an integral form with finite limits. Derived ABER expression is numerically evaluated and plotted for parameters of interest. The obtained result is verified against the available results for special cases.
