Abstract :
This paper presents an experimental evaluation of polarization diversity gains obtained for GSM downlink signals in the 1.8 GHz band. Data were acquired with a portable two-branch receiver, developed to include a signals selection diversity method, which was displaced at walking speed inside buildings featuring a variety of room sizes. The experimental setup and relevant environmental conditions pertaining to data collection are herein described. Diversity gains cumulative distribution functions resulting from raw data processing are analyzed.
