Abstract :
This paper introduces the integration of H∞ control and fuzzy control. H∞ gain scheduling using fuzzy rules is shown to have both stability and performance robustness properties which are not achievable, individually, via fuzzy control or H∞ control. Our proposed scheme successfully provides H ∞ control with reinforced performance given by fuzzy control, and on the other hand, provides fuzzy control with guaranteed stability given by H∞ control. The well-known benchmark problem is resolved to show that the proposed methodology not only guarantees robust-stability but also has a self-tuning ability to meet robust-performance requirements at lower control costs
