Abstract :
Software defined radio (SDR) is an emerging technology that promises a general purpose hardware which can support multiple wireless communication standards. Software radio receiver uses a channelizer to extract the required narrow band spectrum. The channelizer operates at a high sampling rate and hence should be least complex. SDR channelizer should also be reconfigurable to support multiple wireless standards. In this paper, we propose a low complexity, highly reconfigurable variable bandwidth filter which can be used as a channelizer in SDR. The technique uses discrete Fourier transform (DFT) modulated perfect reconstruction filter banks and sample rate converters. Our method offers better reconfigurability than the existing techniques.
