Abstract :
Forecasting demand is a complex task involving uncertainty, heuristics, and analysis of sales, promotion, and competition data. Probabilistic multidimensional data models capture uncertainty using probabilistic measures and are capable of storing and manipulating large amounts of data. A demand forecasting method using a probabilistic multidimensional data model is described in this paper.
