Abstract :
We present in this work a procedure for the microwave absorber optimization. The optimization process of the plane multilayer absorber is based on a modified genetic algorithm. With a given number of layers and their electromagnetic parameters, our method allows one to obtain a low reflection coefficient within a wide band of frequencies for a given range of angles of incidence and for arbitrary polarization of electromagnetic waves. Some examples of synthesis of the absorbers with the electromagnetic parameters found in the literature are given. It is shown, for example, that in the frequency band (2.2-8.2) GHz for the angles of incidence 0 deg - 45 deg for both TE and TM polarizations, the value of the reflectivity smaller than -14 dB can be achieved with the total thickness 5.67 mm of the 5 layers
