Abstract
We investigate a controller for surge and rotating stall based on the full Moore-Greitzer model of compressor dynamics. The controller uses the minimum of the stall cell for feedback. Since the minimum of the stall cell is not a differentiable function of time, a nonsmooth backstepping procedure is used to prove that the controller stabilizes the desired equilibrium. The controller is compared with some other controllers in numerical simulations.
