New functions developed for ICU/CCU Remote Monitoring System using a 3G mobile phone and evaluations of the system

As a combination of medical information and Telecommunication technologies, telemedicine plays a more and more important role in supporting doctors to diagnose and taking care of people´s daily health. It is also an appropriate means to solve the conflict between aging of population and inadequacy of doctors, which are the actual condition and inevitable developing trend of the society not only in developed countries. In this paper, some new functions are developed for a ICU/CCU Remote Monitoring System using a 3G mobile phone. Futhermore, some evaluations of the system have been implied on several different mobile phones. The system is anticipated to be adopted by hospitals for its accuracy and real-time performance to supporting telediagnosis for patients in ICU/CCU.
