Abstract
A practical method for secure and robust transmission of confidential pictorial messages is presented. The scheme consists of first blurring an image before transmission, then using an effective, robust adaptive predictive coding method based upon multiplicative time series to extract the parameters of the blurred image data for transmission and to reconstruct the blurred image at the receiver end, and finally applying a new fast algorithm to deblur and restore the original image. The various parameters may be manipulated by the user in a pre-established way to achieve maximum security.
