Abstract :
An advanced control system which is based on predictive and adaptive control theory has been developed. How the method attains control stabilization and performance improvement is described. The performance function takes into consideration only the control error and manipulating variable of the designated predicted period ahead, making simplification of the control law structure possible. The field test results for the application of this method to the steam temperature control loop of a supercritical pressure boiler plant are presented
