Abstract :
The paper presents and deals with the properties of a new class of recursive estimators - the exponentially weighted functional series modelling estimators - which can be used in different adaptive control applications. The "open-loop" tracking properties of the proposed estimators are analysed and shown to explain quite satisfactorily the "closed-loop" behaviour of the corresponding regulators. The efficient computational algorithms are discussed.
