Abstract :
Mixed-mode, device and circuit simulation of electronic circuits is an important tool when accurate treatment of nonlinear devices within a circuit is required. The two currently favoured approaches, the two-level and full Newton methods, each require some amendment to the device simulator code. Alternative, purely numerical decoupled techniques have received little attention owing to their relative inefficiency. We examine two approaches-the choice of an alternative nonlinear solution technique, and parallelisation-by which such “Black Box” methods might be rendered feasible
