Abstract :
A modulator approach for the design of a separable connector for interfacing a multichip module to a printed circuit board is presented. The LMMC (leaded multichip module connector) connector design provides the reliability, density high speed, and high lead counts necessary for the interconnection of MCMs to printed circuit boards. The connector is available in a kit that can be readily adapted to many different geometries. Its modular approach makes it ideally suited to the small production quantities and prototype applications of today´s MCMs. Assembly is accomplished using standard processes and is flexible in order to accommodate a variety of applications
