Abstract :
A switched parasitic circular array is used for diagnosis of the array faults. The genetic algorithm and the method of moments are used to optimize the radiation characteristics of the array. By comparing the measured amplitude far-field pattern with that calculated from the switched parasitic array, the faulty elements of the array are determined. Also, the switched parasitic circular array is used for direction finding by electronically steering the pattern of the array in space
