Author_Institution :
AT&T Bell Lab., Holmdel, NJ, USA
Abstract :
AT AT&T 5ESS switch-based residential ISDN information service architecture is described. The 5ESS switch ISDN application processor interface architecture with an ISDN telemetry cut-line protection example is described. The end-to-end data network alternatives for providing communication links between ISDN residential users and enhanced service providers are discussed. It is noted that one key strategy in residential ISDN service planning is that the service providers need to create enough high-value services/features to attract residential customers and to justify the operating companies´ and residential customers´ investment
