Abstract :
This paper reports the results of studies on energy production by using bio-masses. The use of bio-masses is encouraged all over the world due to the increasing prices of oil and natural gas and the growing concern for pollution and CO2 emissions as well as to the possibility of using local resources and help local economies. Bio-masses have been classified according to type and production chain. Data on world production of bio-masses and their use for energy transformation are also reported. The main techniques for the energy transformation of bio-masses are investigated and some practical examples are explained in details.
