Abstract :
The authors conducted a meta-analysis about the relationship between Information Technology (IT) capability and business performance which aggregates empirical findings from the information technology literature. This paper confirms that IT capability has significant impact on business performance. Our research also finds that different types of IT capability measurement, different types of performance measurement, different types of culture significantly affect the relationship between IT capability and business performance, whereas the difference of data sources does not. Especially, when three conditions are met, that is, IT capabilities are measured by longitudinal type, non-financial performance indexes are used, and under the pyramid type of culture, the impact of IT capability on business performance will be more significant.
