Abstract :
We consider the effect of linear state feedback on the sign of the quadratic form given by the system matrix. In the 2-dimensional case a simple computable criterion is derived. The problem that we consider is the following. Given a linear control system x = Ax + Bu, (1) can we choose a feedback law u = Kx that will make the quadratic form determined by A, = negative definite?
