Abstract :
A Novel down-hole seismic source have been designed and tested to explore formations properties surrounding a borehole. The energy sent into the formation was optimized by clamping the radiating devices of the tool against the borehole wall, allowing thus a high depth penetration range into the reservoir. The tool is able to generate either a monopole or a dipole mode of radiation enlarging by this way the possibility of detecting events into the formation.
