  • Abstract
    Software based clock synchronization is still necessary in lots of situations, and so as for transmission protocols between telecontrol equipment and systems. IEC 870-5-101 is one of the most important and widely used transmission protocols, and its clock synchronization procedure is typical. So, IEC 870-5-101´s clock synchronization procedure is then summarized clearly, and some of its shortcomings are also discussed. Finally, one improved algorithm is proposed, being easier to be implemented, yet more accurate.
