Abstract :
Frequency dividers are an essential part of circuits used in broadband communications applications. They are often the most difficult part of a circuit designed to operate at very high frequencies. This paper presents an analysis of why frequency limitations exist in these circuits and presents a number of novel CMOS divider structures that operate at significantly higher frequencies than conventional structures
