Abstract :
The transmission zeros of a large space structure can of course be computed by the general-purpose algorithm of Emami-Naeini and Van Dooren. However, careful exploitation of the special form of the equations of motion of structural dynamics leads to a new method that is about twice as fast as this when applied to a damped structure, and at least 60 times as fast for an undamped one.
