Abstract :
This paper illustrates the small-signal stability assessment of a large power system based on the identification of lightly damped modes present in transient stability simulations. The study approach is based on processing the simulation results of critical contingencies using a system identification algorithm. The results obtained allow for the computation of lightly damped modes and for the quantification of modal participation in selected generators
