Abstract :
A lot of blue algae occurred in Xinlicheng Reservoir in 2007, and eutrophication took place in water body, which is mainly caused by the contamination of nitrogen and phosphorus. The control measures of blue algae have been presented, including controlling the entering of nutrient substances from the outside sources, gathering of nutrient substances inside the reservoir, destroying the favorable conditions for existence and reproduction of algae, establishing the long-term mechanism for water source protection, and studying the countermeasures from both symptoms and root cause. Hence, the development of blue algae in the reservoir has been controlled effectively.
