  • Abstract
    Impedance matching networks are used extensively in radio transmission and receiving systems. A problem in designing Pi-Networks is that it is difficult to predict the impedance region of the Pi-Network given a set of practical network component values or ranges, and operating frequency range. The following paper presents a computer program capable of plotting the impedance region of the Pi-Network given component ranges and operating frequency. This gives the designer the ability to visualise the effects that design decisions for components have upon the impedance region of the Pi-Network. In addition a design procedure is proposed, allowing a Pi-Network to match a range of impedances
