Abstract :
The value of the chassis gap has an important impact on driving safety and handling stability of vehicle. Focusing on the efficiency and accuracy of the detection equipment for testing chassis gap, the controlling performance influenced by chassis gap and a novel tester model is presented. The finite element analysis is adopted to ensure the reliability of the tester proposed the Coulomb criterion and COSMOS / Works is selected to determine the safety factor as the time of the complex engineering analysis can be shorted by FFE technology which can minimize the design cycle, reduce the testing costs and improve product quality. Simulation results show that the dangerous place of the base assembly is the nearby regions of the double-rocker´s fixing holes where the limit stress is 2.398E + 7N/m2 and the safety factor is about 26. The problem of detecting chassis gap accurately is resolved.
