Abstract :
A frequency-locked stepping position servo system using a pulse pump controller (PPC) is presented. The proposed microprocessor-based PPC can adaptively generate a motion profile for a position locking system according to the periodically sampled position error. The slope-varied characteristic of the PPC can speed up the positioning response for long distance servo control. A system model is built for computer simulation. A prototype is implemented to verify the theoretical analysis. Bared on the proposed PPC, the high performance stepping position servo system can be realized cost-effectively
