Abstract :
This paper introduces some early results on field of view design parameters for intravehicle optical wireless communications systems. It concludes with an opinion of ours that a wider field of view is necessary to increase both the received power and the end user friendliness at the expense of increased shot noise. Through some simple scenario testing, this paper will provide some guidelines for the reader to instigate a path towards their own conclusions and join the debate in what is still a new deployment application for optical wireless communications.
