Abstract :
This paper investigates different microstrip allpass filters and their use as dispersion correcting networks. The use of such filters in enabling long haul high bit-rate coherent transmission systems is investigated. The performance, relevance end applications of these filters are described. It has been found that these filters can compensate for greater lengths of dispersive fibre and also provide a more compact design compared with the conventional microstrip line equaliser
