Abstract :
The major approaches of the Irvine School are discussed, the essential findings of the research are reviewed, and emerging directions are presented. It is noted that the School´s identity has been developed through focus on a common research objective: understanding the organizational and social impacts of information technology, and, more broadly, the role of technical innovation in organizational change
