Abstract :
In this paper we introduce a new discrete-time vector control scheme for the induction motor (IM) drives. The scheme is based on the optimal control theory with preview. The control system achieves rotor speed control and stator field orientation control via an optimized voltage command. The synthesized controller has good tracking capability and can cure the adverse phenomena caused by parameters variations and modeling mismatch. Furthermore, the preview feedforward control principle is utilized to improve the transient response of the controlled drive. A laboratory prototype has been built to verify the proposed control strategy.
