Abstract :
An accurate representation of power components is essential for reliable transients studies. In many applications, the most critical step in the construction of a transient model is the determination of the parameters that have to be specified in that model. This paper reviews the modeling guidelines proposed for representation of power components in electromagnetic transients studies and the various approaches that can be used for parameter determination.
