Abstract :
Describes some innovative features of a power system analysis subsystem (PAS) that is part of a distribution and sub-transmission electrical network management system (NMS). A graphical interface for power system analysis and control is presented, which features a generic object-model browser and spreadsheet format data display for the selected objects. The GUI is based upon the X window environment and is implemented using Ilog Views, Object Store and Unix C++ on a Unix platform, which allows multiple windows to display different views for power system components in a consistent fashion. Mouse and keyboard-driven operations ensure the GUI ease of use. Control engineers can choose different ways to view the attributes of interesting objects, either using pull down menus or a generic object-model browser
