Abstract :
As many process plants have moved from hard desk operator interfaces to soft desks, so alarm systems interfaces have also migrated. The article focusses of developments in the power supply industry. This paper examines the issues associated with such a transition and presents some methods and techniques that can be used on soft desk interfaces to increase the usability of alarm systems
