Abstract :
The paper presents information collected during a series of studies with military aircrew. The multifactorial process which determines decision-making is discussed with respect to fatigue, communication, time pressure and uncertainty with their likely effects on decision-making in multioperator systems, both in routine operations and in emergencies. In addition, the way that training has evolved to support effective decision-making with current technology is assessed and suggestions are made with regard to the deployment of future systems
