Abstract :
This paper describes increasing brightness of different types of single emitters and multichannel laser systems enabled by achievements in development of low absorption PTR glass and high optical quality of VBGs. It was shown that high power wide stripe multimode LDs and LD bars can be spectrally locked to narrow lines with less than 100 pm bandwidths by VBGs used as output couplers.
