Abstract :
The author presents a high capacity 3-dimensional radio location system which provides the geographic coordinates and elevation of a user, whether it be a person, an airplane, a car, a rescue helicopter, a school bus or a child playing. The locator´s mobile unit is a handset. This is a small portable pocket set similar to the cellular mobile phone set. With this the user can send a radio pulse by means of which he can be located. The location is performed at the master station by determining the latitude, longitude and elevation of the caller. In addition the user can be directed to a requested location. It can be used for vehicle navigation on highways, as well as to control vehicles automatically on pre-established highways. It can also monitor and locate an unsupervised child with a handset attached to his vest
