Abstract
In this paper, an open problem of applying direct adaptive design techniques to the control of uncertain systems in the presence of infinite number of failures is presented. A simple dual-actuator plant is set as an example. Simulation results show that certain modifications are required on basic direct adaptive scheme to maintain the boundedness of all closed-loop signals.
